Legal Information
Please read our terms and conditions relating to bookings, website use and the services provided by Maggie’s Place.
Bookings
Bookings can be made through our online booking system or by contacting us directly.
All afternoon tea reservations are subject to a minimum booking of two guests.
The online booking fee of £59.90 is a non-refundable deposit which secures your reservation within our booking calendar. A booking is not considered confirmed until payment of the deposit has been successfully received.
Please ensure all booking details, including guest numbers and contact information, are correct before completing your reservation.
Maggie’s Place will contact you prior to your booking to confirm any dietary requirements and preferred menu options. Every effort will be made to accommodate dietary requirements wherever reasonably possible. However, due to our use of fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, we reserve the right to substitute menu items where necessary because of ingredient availability or supplier issues.
For bookings of three or more guests, Maggie’s Place will contact you with a separate payment link for the remaining balance. Full payment must be received no later than 48 hours before your scheduled afternoon tea.
Payments
Payments made through our website are processed securely by a third-party payment provider such as Stripe. Maggie’s Place does not store or have access to your full payment card details.
By submitting payment, you confirm that you are authorised to use the chosen payment method.
The online booking payment represents a reservation deposit and may not cover the full cost of your afternoon tea booking. Where an additional balance is due, payment instructions will be provided by Maggie’s Place.
Where a balance remains outstanding, Maggie’s Place reserves the right to cancel the reservation if payment is not received at least 48 hours prior to the booking date.
Guest Numbers
Please ensure your final guest numbers are confirmed at the time of booking. Once a booking has been confirmed, guest numbers cannot be reduced and payments made for guests who are unable to attend are non-refundable.
If you are unable to attend your booking, you may transfer your reservation to an alternative date, provided at least 7 days’ notice is given. Transfers are subject to availability and may only be made once unless otherwise agreed by Maggie’s Place.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. While bookings are non-refundable, they may be transferred to an alternative date, subject to availability, provided at least 7 days’ notice is given before your scheduled booking.
The £59.90 reservation deposit is non-refundable and secures your chosen date, time and seating allocation.
Any additional payments made towards your booking are also non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
If you fail to attend your booking or arrive significantly late, all payments made will be retained to cover the cost of preparation and the reserved seating allocated to your party.
Refund Policy
Due to the advance preparation required for afternoon tea bookings, all payments made towards a reservation are non-refundable.
Any additional payments made towards your booking are non-refundable, as they contribute towards the preparation and reserved seating allocated for your booking.
If Maggie’s Place is unable to fulfil your booking due to unforeseen circumstances, customers will be offered either an alternative booking date or a full refund of all monies paid.
Dietary Requirements & Allergens
Whilst every reasonable effort is made to accommodate dietary requirements and food allergies, Maggie’s Place cannot guarantee that any menu item will be completely free from allergens due to the nature of food preparation within our kitchen.
Customers with severe allergies are encouraged to contact us before making a booking to discuss their individual requirements.
Arrival Times
Please arrive at your scheduled booking time. Late arrivals may reduce the time available for your afternoon tea experience and, where significantly delayed, may be treated as a non-attendance at the discretion of Maggie’s Place.
Behaviour
Maggie’s Place is committed to providing a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all guests. We reserve the right to refuse service or ask guests to leave if their behaviour is abusive, threatening, disruptive, or compromises the safety or enjoyment of staff or other customers. In such circumstances, no refunds or transfers will be offered.
Damage to Property
Guests are responsible for any loss or damage caused to the property, furnishings, equipment or fixtures through deliberate or negligent actions. Maggie’s Place reserves the right to recover the reasonable cost of repair or replacement where appropriate.
Changes to Bookings
Requests to amend booking dates or times should be made as early as possible. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate changes, they cannot be guaranteed and remain subject to availability.
Gift Experience Vouchers
Gift Experience Vouchers are valid for six months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated.
Vouchers are valid for a single use only and must be redeemed before their expiry date. Any unused value remaining after redemption will be forfeited.
Gift Experience Vouchers are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any cash alternative.
The purchaser and recipient are responsible for the safekeeping of their voucher. Maggie’s Place cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen, damaged or unauthorised use of Gift Experience Vouchers.
Personal Belongings
Personal belongings are brought onto the premises entirely at the owner’s risk. Maggie’s Place accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of personal items left unattended on the premises.
Unforeseen Circumstances
In the unlikely event that Maggie’s Place is unable to fulfil a booking due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, power failure, illness, supplier issues or government restrictions, customers will be offered either an alternative booking date or a full refund of all monies paid. Maggie’s Place shall not be liable for any additional costs or losses incurred as a result of such cancellation.
Liability
Maggie’s Place shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your booking, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
Nothing within these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights under UK consumer legislation.
